Plas Newydd - A warm residential care home in the heart of Cefn Coed, Merthyr Tydfil.
Home is Cefn Coed— local shops, familiar faces, and a community at the end of the road. We'll do everything we can to make sure it stays that way for every resident.
We support residents through change — physical, emotional, cognitive — while keeping their independence and identity at the centre of everything we do.
Our residents are supported to maintain as independent a life as they physically, emotionally and mentally can. We adapt our service around them — never the other way round.
Short-term stays for those who need temporary support, or to give family carers a well-earned break. We make every stay feel like home.
We have a variety of equipment to support physical challenges — hoists, slide sheets, and Sara Stedy — and work closely with visiting health professionals to meet every need.

Our Activities Co-ordinator plans a monthly programme of activities and events — reminiscence groups, art, cooking, quizzes, games and puzzles, spa days, and visiting entertainers.
Our Activities Co-ordinator ensures there's always something to look forward to — from cooking and quizzes to visiting entertainers and pamper sessions.
Our latest inspection report from Care Inspectorate Wales is available to view.
We know this can feel overwhelming. Whether you're self-funding or exploring local authority support, we'll guide you through it step by step.
